ABOUT JOANNE

Joanne burst onto the Irish comedy scene in 2014 and, in less than a year in the business, became the co-host of RTÉ 2’s flagship comedy show Republic of Telly, and sold out her first solo stand up show in Dublin.

Described as 'the most exciting thing to happen to Irish comedy in years' by the Irish Times, and 'Hilarious and brutal' by Lyn Gardner, Joanne quickly became Ireland's fastest rising comedy star. Her one-woman autobiographical show Bite Me, a dark comedy theatre piece about bulimia, was nominated for multiple Dublin Fringe Festival awards including Best Performer and Best Production. Her 2019 Show The Prosecco Express received rave reviews and sold out its entire Edinburgh Fringe and Dublin Fringe runs. Joanne also performed and sold out her first ever Soho Theatre run in 2019.

Joanne developed and presented the incredibly popular documentary Baby Hater in 2018 for Virgin Media, and is a regular on Irish telly. She's currently touring her show The Prosecco Express around Ireland, and will be debuting at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in March 2020. She most recently starred in Comedians Solve Problems for Comedy Central and is currently touring Ireland and the UK with her show The Prosecco Express.

Joanne is a regular on UK & Irish panel shows, chat shows and podcasts has a slew of TV & radio credits to her name including The Blame Game for BBC Northern Ireland, A Good Read (BBC Radio 4), Evil Genius (BBC Sounds, Women on the Verge (RTÉ 1), Soft Border Patrol on BBC One, The Late Late Show (RTÉ1), The Tommy Tiernan Chat Show (RTÉ1), The Ray D’Arcy Show (RTÉ1) The Tonight Show (TV3), Presenter on Republic of Telly RTÉ2 , The Six O’Clock Show (TV3), and The Commute (RTÉ).

GLEEBAG AT VICAR STREET

Joanne is performing her debut solo headline show Gleebag at Dublin’s comedy mecca, Vicar Street, on Friday 26th April 2019.

Ireland’s comedy sweetheart (self-titled) will perform her first ever Vicar Street headline gig. She has supported other comedians in Vicar Street before because she’s generous with her time and they needed her, but this will be the first time she can clean out the fridge in the green room without the staff asking her questions about where she’s taking it all, and that’s exciting.

Joanne is feeling powerful and she hopes Vogue Williams and Amy Huberman are sh*tting themselves because she’s coming for their emerald crowns, and if she can’t take them fairly, she will joust them right off their immaculately groomed heads.

Tickets priced €22 and are available here or through Ticketmaster and the usual outlets nationwide.

GLEEBAG WORLDWIDE!

Glee Bag is going on a world tour! (To three more counties around Ireland.)

Joanne will perform her new stand up show in Dolan’s in Limerick, The Glór Theatre, Ennis and The Spirit Store, Dundalk In January 2018. Tickets available here on the website or from the venues.

Joanne is off to the Adelaide Fringe in February 2019! With two Edinburgh Fringes under her belt, she felt it was time to spread her Fringe and head Austral.
